Wow, what a great blog. You have captured the image of a housewife in a middle-class family and brought her to life. I had a bit of a giggle when I first read about the finer things in life, thinking you were going that way. The poor woman was dreaming, but many women dream about the better thing they could do for their children in life. Teaching the values and manners will get them through just as well as money can.
If you had not put the Victorian Era In this blog, it could have been a family from today and the housewife hoping for better thing for her children. No matter what class they are in, the feeling women have for their children is all the same.
